The William K. Weisenberg Fund for Civics Education

Why our judges and courts are importantWilliam K. Weisenberg

The William K. Weisenberg Fund for Civics Education was established in 2013 by the Ohio State Bar Foundation Board of Trustees to honor Bill Weisenberg's 35 years of dedicated service to the Ohio Bar. The Fund supports programs that help young people understand the law, their rights, and their responsibilities as citizens. Since its inception, contributions to the Fund have totaled nearly $185,000.

Grant funding from the Fund has supported projects like the Ohio Bar’s MyOhioRights.com project, bringing civics education to life with short, engaging videos on topics such as police stops, voting rights, and responsible use of social media. Last year alone, these resources reached over 770,000 student accounts, with more than 100,000 video plays and an awareness campaign generating 16.5 million impressions since its launch.

Since its inception, contributions to the Fund have totaled nearly $185,000. By supporting the William K. Weisenberg Fund for Civics Education, you’re not just making a donation—you’re helping carry forward Bill’s legacy of inspiring, student-centered civic learning. Your gift ensures that more young people across Ohio have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to understand the law, exercise their rights, and participate meaningfully in democracy.

Donate today to honor continue this work and make a lasting impact on civic education in Ohio. Every gift helps bring civics to life for the next generation of informed, engaged citizens.
