The Ohio State Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to educate the public about the rule of law and improve the justice system for all Ohioans. By offering grant funding, leadership development, and educational outreach programs, the OSBF is working to address inequities among Ohio’s most vulnerable and marginalized populations, including communities of color.
Our Mission: Promoting philanthropy and encouraging service to create a more just and equitable legal system for all Ohioans.
Grants. We award over $1 million in grant funding to Ohio nonprofit organizations who support our mission and work with the legal system and their communities. Since 1992, we have awarded over $15 million in total grant funding.
Awards. We honor excellence through our well-known Awards Program, celebrating people and organizations who work tirelessly and show endless dedication to the law, to our communities, and to our entire state.
Fellows. We welcome a new class of attorneys into our Fellows program each year. Over 1,000 fellows are now member attorneys of the Foundation. They represent an elite group of Ohio lawyers who give their time, talent, and treasure so that we can further advance our mission.
Programs. We work to improve the justice system through our talented Fellows and the contributions of our members. We educate the public about the rule of law because we believe that our legal system works better when it is understood well by everyone.
The work that we do today began with the generosity of the WWI era George W. Ritter. Learn more about George W. Ritter's investment in Jeep and how you can become a member of the Ritter Circle.
